Community Guidelines

Forty5° is a community of riders sharing a workshop, a Shopify catalogue, and the road. These guidelines describe what we expect from everyone who uses the app — and what gets a ride, a photo, or an account removed.

These guidelines work alongside our Terms of Use; both documents apply.

What we expect

Be a rider others want on their ride. Treat other riders with respect. Disagree without insulting. Help newer riders. Give credit for good wrenching.

Stay on topic. The app is for motorcycles, the workshop, riding, and the riders who use both. Off-topic political, religious, or commercial content is not a fit for this space.

Ride safely. Rides created on Forty5° are rider-organised — there is no professional escort. Don't post rides that violate UAE traffic law (illegal speeds, banned routes, anything requiring a police permit you don't have). Don't pressure other riders to take risks they're not comfortable with.

What gets removed

The following content is removed automatically by our image classifier OR on staff review:

• Sexual content of any kind. The app is for motorcycles, not adult media.
• Graphic violence beyond what's relevant to discussing a crash for safety purposes. Crash-aftermath photos for diagnostic reasons (frame damage, lessons-learned) are allowed; content that glorifies violence is not.
• Hateful content targeting any group based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected attribute.
• Content involving minors in any sexualised, exploitative, or grooming context. Reports here are escalated immediately and may be referred to UAE authorities.
• Threats, harassment, intimidation — including credible threats of violence, stalking, or sustained personal attacks on another rider.
• Doxxing — posting another rider's home address, workplace, phone number, family details, or anything that could lead to real-world harm. Sharing your own contact info is fine; sharing someone else's is not.
• Illegal content — anything that breaks UAE law, including but not limited to: posting stolen vehicles, soliciting illegal drug use, advocating reckless driving on public roads, copyright infringement.
• Spam + scams — bulk promotional content, affiliate links to unrelated products, fake giveaways, MLM pitches.
• Impersonation — pretending to be another rider, a Forty5° staff member, a mechanic you aren't, or a brand representative.

Photos specifically

Every photo you upload (AI Mechanic attachments, bike photos, profile photo, odometer photos) is screened by an automated image classifier before it's visible to anyone else. The classifier rejects photos that fall outside the categories the upload point allows:

• Bike photos must show a motorcycle, scooter, or two-wheel vehicle. Riders posing with their bike are fine.
• Profile photos must be appropriate but topic is not checked — a person's face, their bike, a logo, anything inoffensive is fine.
• AI Mechanic photos must show a motorcycle, part, tool, dashboard, error code, or repair scene. Photos with people only as incidental subjects are fine; selfies and lifestyle shots are off-topic for the AI Mechanic and will be rejected at upload.
• Odometer photos must show a vehicle dashboard. The reading is extracted by OCR; we store the photo as part of your bike's mileage audit trail.

Reporting

Tap the Report affordance on any rider, ride, photo, or chat message you believe violates these guidelines. Reports are read by Forty5° staff during working hours; serious reports (threats, CSAM, doxxing) are triaged with priority. You can also mute a rider (you stop seeing their content) or block them (you become mutually invisible and can't be on the same ride RSVP).

We don't tell the reported rider who reported them. We don't share reports with anyone outside Forty5° staff except where required by law (court order, child-safety escalation, etc.).

What happens after a report

• First violation, lower severity: the content is removed and the rider is warned via in-app notification.
• Repeated violations: temporary suspension (7 or 30 days, depending on pattern).
• Egregious single violation: permanent account ban, with referral to authorities for criminal content (CSAM, credible threats).

If your account is suspended or banned and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal by emailing contact@forty5d.com within 30 days. We respond within 5 working days.

How we'll evolve these guidelines

Right now most "community" on Forty5° is rides + RSVPs + ride km logging. As we add posts, groups, and richer surfaces, we'll extend these guidelines in lockstep — and we'll notify all riders in-app when we do.
